My Art: Daydreamer. 7/5/2013.
“If you’ve never stared off in the distance, then your life is a shame”.
~Adam Duritz, “Mrs. Potter’s Lullaby,” performed by Counting Crows
Flowers in her hair,
I’ve always believed that I probably was a gypsy in my past life. Daydreamer depicts that side of me. Flowers in her hair, bright colors, thoughts unknown, always a mystery. She is that to me, my little daydreamer, my little gypsy. Me, essentially.
I look at her and I smile. Yes, there may be a tinge of sadness but it’s only because when you’re a gypsy, when you’re wandering, when you’re in search of something, you’re perpetually trying to figure out what’s missing in your life.
I’ll be open enough to admit that there are things I am still in search for despite my values, goals, and principles in life being intact. But to me, that’s what makes life interesting and worth living.
There are still things to figure out and it’s exciting to know that everyday will eventually paint the big picture for me.
